The Megawatt Family Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Megawatt Group in Kenya. The foundation engages in philanthropic work with the vision to support communities in navigating socio-economic challenges through initiatives that create positive social impact. Established in 2024, the foundation partners with other local organisations to implement programs at the community level.
We believe in giving back to the community in more than one way. This is embodied in our diverse program efforts across our 4 core areas of focus and in our commitment to mobilize resources from our corporate partners and sponsors and to implement programs that create a lasting positive impact on the lives of those in need.
We understand the unique needs of our local communities in Kenya and the development priorities of the government of Kenya. The foundation serves as a bridge to provide essential support to children, youth, and other vulnerable groups in the country to navigate challenges in accessing Education opportunities, clean and affordable energy, and economic empowerment programs.
We aim to provide support that is sustainable through payback programs from beneficiaries, and capacity building through skills transfer and exchanges to ensure long-term impact.
